Alexisonfire || The Philosophical Significance of Shooting My Sister in the Face: An Essay By James Secord
I miss how awesome this band used to be
Nai Harvest || The Bikes and the Basement

I’ve been anxiously awaiting the release of this album for quite a while, and while it isn’t officially released yet, it was posted for download today on Absolutepunk’s Free Music Friday. I’ve been hearing songs from the album for the past few months via Tyler’s Tumblr, and it’s so good to finally hear the album as a whole. This is the best album of 2012 for me so far, so do yourselves a favor and download it. If you like it, preorder it on vinyl through Kat Kat records.
FFO: Brand New, Seahaven, Balance and Composure
The Joe feat. Mikey Maybe || Of God and Women
I don’t usually post this sort of thing, but this song is so good
Now entering its fourth year, this annual festival initially held in the spring in Edmonton, Alberta provides three full days of DIY community, discussion, activities, hangouts, and performances by the finest “DIY”, “hardcore” and “post-hardcore” bands from Western Canada and beyond. There’s simply to much goodness to be contained in a single city, so this year Ghost Throats has expanded to include a Calgary date. Ghost Throats was initially centered on the budding post-hardcore scene in central Alberta but has reached out to include bands coming out from all over including far wrung cities such as Victoria, Toronto, Ottawa, Vancouver & Seattle.
The festival runs for 3 days first weekend in June; June 1 & 2 in Edmonton and June 3rd in Calgary.

settledowncity: For screamo you should check out Archives. For math rock, Faraquet and Sweep The Leg Johnny are two bands I've been listening to a lot lately. For post rock check out If These Trees Could talk, and Natural Snow Building's album "The Dance of the Moon and the Sun". They are a mix of a lot of stuff like ambient, drone, folk, etc but you should like them if you like post rock.
I’ll check all those out ASAP. Thanks!
I need some new music. Put some suggestions in my ask box? Preferably screamo, math rock, or post rock. Helppppp
