Ok guys, I’m back to reviewing. I’m doing my top 5 albums of 2011 over the next couple days, so here we go. Mahria is a female fronted skram band from Edmonton. I have to admit that when I first heard their songs on the Todos Caeran split, I wasn’t really into them. No idea why, but I just couldn’t get into it. But I saw them live a few times following that first listen, and decided I should give them another chance. I saw that they had posted this album on their bandcamp and immediately gave it a listen. I was blown away. The instrumentals are amazing, and I really can’t say enough good things about the vocals. This band really hit their stride on this album, and you would be doing yourself a disservice by not listening to this. The only reason this isn’t number one on my list is that so much great music has come out this year. Don’t sleep on this.
